A retired English teacher, Wayne Shipley has two feature Westerns under his belt and is in production for a third. The first, released in 2008, is One-Eyed Horse also available under the title Come Hell or High Water. It is currently formatted as a miniseries on Amazon Prime as One-Eyed Horse. The second, Day of the Gun, is currently in release and will also be available as a miniseries on Amazon Prime in the spring of 2018. Although always interested in film, Wayne’s first love has always been Shakespeare and theatre. He has directed many plays including West Side Story and To Kill a Mockingbird. Over a decade ago, Wayne, along with John Strawbridge and founding director Gary Wheeler formed Actors Company Theatre, where he directed several musicals, among those The Fantasticks and Man of La Mancha. Venturing into the world of independent filmmaking, Wayne has worked on- and off- camera for Midnight Marquee, Redfield Arts, and Lee Doll Productions. He also was associate producer with Zero Point Productions on their debut project Convergence. He has performed as a background actor in several major motion pictures. In addition to the features films, Wayne has directed seven docudramas including Gunfight at Osage Station, The Day the Aces Got Trumped, and The Singletree Montana Bank Raid, The Cusson’s Caper, Bass Reeves and the Brunter Brothers, and Mark Twain & Hell Hound Rogers. These are also available on Amazon Prime. The Day the Aces Got Trumped was selected by the National Baseball Hall of Fame for their 2012 Film Festival and is now permanently archived there.
